It’s no secret that there are several states running out of water. California, Texas, and Nevada are just some of the states at risk of becoming drought-stricken in the future. If you didn't know about this, then it’s time to get to know and make a change.
Hi, my name is Mike Noren and I am an activist for saving water. In the USA alone, we waste almost 900 billion gallons of water every year. To put that into perspective, that equates to the yearly household water use of around 11 million homes!
We waste water in so many ways, like leaving the faucet on while we brush our teeth, bathing instead of showering, and watering our lawns more than we need to.
Droughts can be stressful times for everyone living in such an area, so we want to avoid them as much as possible. With the weather only getting warmer every year, we need to save as much water as we can to avoid them.
However, unfortunately, there is only so much that local campaigning and protests can do. So, I’ve created my website Save The Drop to help us all understand the importance of saving water and working together to do so.
You’ll also learn more about droughts and their effects on society, how to collect rainwater and use it in your everyday life, and how much water you really need to be using a day. Remember that saving water will also save money on your water bill, so why not give it a go and help me Save The Drop!
